Kareem Elbahrawy
Principal Software Engineer
Leading network automation at 1Global. Started coding at 14, never stopped.
// About
I wrote my first line of code at 14 with my dad - we were building a paint app in Visual Basic. That moment something clicked. By 15, I'd written a 4000-line Flash game. Before I turned 20, I'd built a Java app for a library in my hometown, dozens of physics games, and started making money building websites.
I studied engineering while freelancing as a PHP developer. Built sites for clients across the world, including Black Crows - a ski brand that became my main income. PHP, databases, Node.js, Angular - whatever the project needed.
In 2017, I got married and moved to Berlin to start my first corporate job at AUTO1. That's where everything changed. I met people who reshaped how I think, started questioning things I'd never questioned, and discovered hiking. Mountains became my spiritual practice - Georgia, Nepal, the Alps. There's something about altitude that strips away the noise.
Now I'm at 1Global, building network automation tools. Based in Dubai with my wife Asmaa and our two kids - Younes and Roqaya. Australia is the next chapter. A place to raise them with more freedom.
